Provo Peaks 6th grade CAS (Center for Accelerated Studies) recently took a trip up north that included the planetarium and Tucanos!

The group of 40 students started out their day by boarding the FrontRunner to view a show at the Clarke Planetarium in Salt Lake City. The show focused on subjects that are aligned with 6th grade social studies and science standards. After the show, students were able to explore the various exhibits around the planetarium.

Students then headed over to the popular Brazilian restaurant, Tucanos, for lunch. The lunch was also a great learning opportunity, as students had spent the week prior learning about table manner skills as part of a social skills lesson. Students also practiced real life finances, as they were responsible for figuring out the cost of their meal, including tax and the tip, before the field trip.

The field trip was a great opportunity to apply learning concepts and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the students. Thank you to all who helped to make this field trip a success!
